How Long Does a Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) Cycle Take?

A common question we get asked is how long the FET transfer timeline will take. The overall breakdown we tell patients is 5-6 weeks from the start of a period to embryo transfer.
2 weeks of birth control pills to quiet the ovaries and thin the lining and to help with timing
10-15 days of priming the uterine lining. This can be with a natural cycle, a modified natural cycle with letrozole or a controlled cycle using various forms of estrogen.
Approximately 6 days of progesterone if transferring a blastocyst.
Frozen embryo transfer (FET).
The dreaded two-week-wait.
Followed by beta check (beta human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) aka pregnancy blood test).
