What’s Normal Activity Post Embryo Transfer?

With Fertility Doctor Roohi Jeelani

So we know bed rest doesn’t help the success of an embryo transfer and resumption of normal activity is best. But what is normal activity? I tell my patients. Keep a steady state heart rate (resting and for sure below 150 if working out. No vigorous or new exercises. No intercourse.

What do studies show?

LBI rates (56.7% vs. 41.6%) were observed to be significantly higher in the no rest (NR) group than in the rest (R) group.

Lower miscarriage rates (18.3% vs. 27.5%) were shown in the NR when compared with the R group.

Comparable implantation rates were obtained with or without bed rest after embryo transfer.
