How Does the Sperm Donor Conception Process Work?

A global leader, California Cryobank’s donor sperm services have helped create an estimated 75,000+ families worldwide. Their extensive and diverse portfolio includes hundreds of donors (from donation centers across the nation) that feature a variety of physical characteristics, ethnicities, religions, interests, and talents.

  1. Create your free account and start a donor search

    a. Head to cryobank.com to create your free account and use promo code WARRIOR to upgrade to their level 2 subscription to their donor catalog.

    b. California Cryobank allows you to filter your search by height, hair color, education, and more. You can even create a favorites list.

    c. Less than 1% of applicants will make it into their donor portfolio due to their high standards and minimum donation requirements, so you know you’re getting high-quality picks from committed donors.

  2. Purchase vials

    a. Discuss how many vials you’ll need and of what type with your healthcare provider: ICI (intracervical), IUI (intrauterine), IVF (in-vitro), or ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection). You will want to make your decision at least two weeks prior to your artificial insemination or IVF procedure.

    b. On average, it can take anywhere from 3 - 4 IUI inseminations to arrive at pregnancy. Your physician may require 1 or 2 vials for each insemination. California Cryobank recommends purchasing at least 4 vials per pregnancy. If you haven't decided how many children you would like to have, it's important to start that conversation now with your physician or partner so that you can buy extra vials from this donor as needed.

    c. Since 2018, all their new donors are required to be ID Disclosure Donors.*

    d. Their Family Today and Family Tomorrow Programs offer savings on storage when you purchase four or more vials.**

    e. Their Sibling Registry offers opportunities for donor-conceived children to find other siblings, should they choose to do so.

  3. Place an order

    a. Enter the quantity of vials you would like to order, select your ship date, and check out.

    b. All vials are shipped in liquid nitrogen "dry" shippers which are designed to maintain the proper temperature for up to 7 days from the date of shipment.

    c. They can ship to your home or preferred clinic and service all 50 states and over 40 different countries.***

    d. To help ensure your vials arrive on time (e.g. due to weather conditions, etc.), please plan for your shipment to be delivered 2 days prior to your insemination (especially for Saturday procedures).

California Cryobank® has been helping to create and grow families for over 45 years. They provide the support you need every step of the way. So, what are you waiting for? ID Disclosure Donors have agreed to allow California Cryobank to release certain identifying information to any offspring once they turn 18. This information may include donor's full name, donation location, last known address, or email. California Cryobank reserves the right to deny access to the donor’s identifying information if the offspring does not agree to the program guidelines as stated.

**After the first year, clients are responsible for storage. Patients can choose to renew storage each year, or they can save on 18-year or lifetime options. The current annual storage fee is subject to change.

*** Shipping to your home is not available outside of the US and is not available in NY unless approved by your physician.
